2012 Program Outcomes
88,923 Chicagoans were homeless in the course of the 2009-10 school year
Per our 2009-10 analysis, families made up 45.8 percent of Chicago's homeless population, a total of 40,723 people. There were 28,345 children (31.9 percent) and 12,378 adults (13.9 percent).
Unaccompanied youth (through age 17) made up 7.3 percent, or 6,463 youths.
Single adults made up 46.9 percent, or 41,737 single adults.

In 2012, RSSI served over 660 households and provided over 18,000 services to our clients and non-RSSI households. Also, in 2012:
86% of clients have stabilized their medical and mental health care and have avoided hospitalization.
92% are connected with a medical or mental health care provider to help them manage their disability.
100% of clients were assessed to see if they qualify for mainstream human service program benefits.
98% of clients became stabilized in their housing.
100% of clients achieved at least two goals on the service plans.
