Our History

Renaissance Social Services, Inc. opened in 1997 to help low-income Chicagoans maintain their housing. The organization’s first units of supportive housing came from a partnership with Renaissance Realty Group, a collaboration that allowed Renaissance to house clients, provide supportive social services, decrease residential turnover, and increase the stability of the building and community.

Since then, Renaissance has expanded its programs and partnerships to serve more than 900 individuals.

Our Prevention Program aims to keep people in their homes through emergency financial assistance.  Our Housing Stability Program provides quality housing and case management support to men, women and families living at five properties across Chicago’s North and Northwest Sides and our Supportive Housing Outreach Team provides housing and services to chronically homeless men and women struggling with mental illness and substance use disorders.
