Director

Anh Nguyen, MD, MBA

Anh Nguyen, MD, MBA, is a clinician and biotechnology executive who's work involves
translational medicine and clinical development - to develop gene therapies for rare
disease. Previously, Nguyen served as a medical officer for both the US Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). He began his career in life sciences as a global medical director at Baxter Healthcare.
Nguyen is a Kauffman Fellow, FDA Commissioner's Fellow, and a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellow. During his RWJF fellowship on the US Senate Committee
on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions he helped draft legislative policies as part of the
"21st Century Cures Act" - enacted into law in 2016. Nguyen regularly volunteers as active
senior medical staff at the NIH and is a recipient of the NIH Director's Award. Nguyen received a combined BS-MD degree from the New Jersey Medical School, and an MBA from
the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He completed both his residency in
anesthesiology and a fellowship in cardiovascular anesthesiology at the Massachusetts General
Hospital - Harvard Medical School. He currently is the Vice President, Therapeutic Sector Lead at
Asklepios BioPharmaceutical (AskBio).
